Registrant Refund Policy:
Eligibility for a registrant refund is based on the following criteria. Please note, all registrants must email CME department within the specified time frames to be eligible for a refund. To receive a full refund, registrants must provide written notification to the CME department no sooner than 30 days of activity start date. Registrants that notify the CME department within 14-29 days prior to activity will receive a 50% refund.

The Symposium is intended gather various health care clinicians and disciplines to provide and demonstrate the most recent clinical updates and advancements in pulmonary and critical medicine. Through interactive lectures and simulation workshops participants with various levels of knowledge and expertise will gain new knowledge which they can use to strengthen and adapt to best practice in their own profession.

Target Audience
Pulmonologist, Critical Care Physicians, Emergency Medicine Physicians, Cardiologist, Hospitalist, CRNP, PA, Nurses, Respiratory Therapist, and other medical professionals
Learning Objectives
1. Review recent updates in medical literature in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine
2. Discuss diagnosis and management of various critical care emergencies
3. Teach skills to effectively utilize bedside ultrasound in the diagnosis and management of pulmonary and critical care diseases
4. Demonstrate intubation techniques and management of difficult airways in the critical care setting
5. Examine the role of extra-corporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) in the management of a critically ill patient
6. Explore local scholarly activity in the field of pulmonary, critical care, sleep, and allergy via poster/abstract presentations
7. Review updates in Interventional Pulmonology including utility of cryobiopsy and management of refractory pneumothorax
8. Practice performing chest tubes and thoracenteses
9. Demonstrate advanced bronchoscopy procedures including endobronchial ultrasound, cryobronchoscopy, and foreign body removal
Accreditation Physicians Allegheny General Hospital is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Credits to be determined.
The West Penn Hospital is approved as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by Pennsylvania State Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. Contact hours pending.
Respiratory Therapists Application will be submitted to the American Association for Respiratory Care. Credits to be determined.
Physical Therapy Credits Application will be submitted for PA PT Credits.
