The last several years have brought an explosion of new technologies and techniques in orthopaedics. Smaller incisions, more aggressive rehabilitation, new pain control protocols and new types of implants all carry implications for changes in care. Accordingly, reduction of complications following orthopaedic procedures is vital in improving outcomes for the orthopaedic patient.
