Suicide Prevention Training 2023
This program will focus on youth suicide. Topics include: a review of key statistics and demographics, risk factors that clinicians should look for and be aware of, specific ways that clinicians can prevent and intervene, and policies and resources within the context of school systems. Attendees will be presented with several discussion questions and real-life scenarios to consider based on the topics above.
Target Audience
Healthcare professionals, psychologists, social workers, professional counselors, Licensed marriage and Family therapists, Behavioral Health School Educators.
Learning Objectives
- Describe 2 demographical differences in suicidal behavior
- Identify 3 risk factors to suicidal behavior.
- Identify 1 key factor in preventing suicidal behavior.
- Identify how to locate their specific school district's 819 policy.
- List 1 "do" and 1 "don't" when a student discloses suicidal thoughts.
