Advances in Knowledge and Innovative Treatments in Behavioral Health and Psychiatry
Behavioral health providers (psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, counselors, nurse practitioners and nurses) are invited to learn up-to-date information regarding advances in assessment and treatment interventions for a variety of patients. There is increased interest in improved recognition and assessment of autism spectrum disorders, suicidal ideation and behavior in adolescents, and substance use problems. A number of innovative treatment interventions have been developed and refined for a variety of behavioral, emotional, and psychiatric issues, particularly for special and diverse populations.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this educational conference, the participants will:
- Describe evidence based approaches to clinical assessment of suicidal child and adolescent patients in the emergency room setting
- Describe innovative technologies and novel therapeutics including zuranolone, TMS, ketamine and psychedelics in the management of psychiatric disorders.
- Assess and discuss the importance of acknowledging the impact of cultural differences on treatment of psychiatric disorders
- Identify trends among adolescents and young adults using substances and describe ways to approach treatment
- Describe holistic and team based approaches to clinical management of chronic pain
Identify evidence-based assessment and evaluation strategies for adolescents and adults with possible autism spectrum disorders
