Perform a comprehensive assessment of dry eye patients Documentation of environmental factors, medical history, and medications that contribute to dry eye, documentation of physical examination of the lids, lacrimal system, and ocular surface to include an assessment of tear function and classification of disease severity as mild, moderate or severe are important in the comprehensive assessment of patients with dry eye.
