New Challenges in Managing TB Infection and TB Disease in the TB Elimination Era
Breathe Pennsylvania met with the Allegheny County Health Department and discussed the need for expanded access to Tuberculosis education in the county. The objective of this course is to increase health care practitioner's knowledge of the challenges in managing tuberculosis infection and tuberculosis disease to understand the importance of treating tuberculosis infection for the elimination of the tuberculosis disease and new options for treatment.
Target Audience
Health care providers involved in diagnosis or management of patients with tuberculosis, including physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, infection control practitioners, and public health staff.
Learning Objectives
1.) Review current Epidemiology of TB Infection and TB Disease in the United States progress in achieving the goal of TB Elimination
2.) Understand the challenges in approaching TB Disease in an era of declining incidence, and how to avoid common errors in recognition and management
3.) To recognize importance of treating TB infection for the elimination of TB Disease and what all physicians need to know about new options for treatment
