Motivational Interviewing Learning Journey Level 2 Workshop 2 Applying Skills and Tools to Establish Rapport- OARS, HEART Self Study Video: Enduring Material
Learners who have completed the Motivational Interviewing Learning Journeys Overview Web-Based Training Course and assessment are assigned to their appropriate Learning Journey Level. The Learner should follow this Learning Journey over a span of six months, attending monthly 2-hour virtual instructor-led training sessions and completing the activities associated. Content each month will build upon the last workshop, and by the end, the goal is for the learner to have a comprehensive understanding of Motivational Interviewing and how they can use it in their day-to-day role, which ultimately results in a more positive interaction with our members.
- Describe how OARS skills can be used to create change collaboratively and elicit change talk by utilizing open-ended questions, affirmations, reflections, and summarizing.
- Apply the HEART components to increase engagement through hospitality, empathy, analyze, resistance, take action to engage the member.
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the essential areas and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through joint providership of Allegheny General Hospital and Highmark Health. Allegheny General Hospital is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
