Classic Hematology Course 2024
The goal of this course is to ensure that members of the interprofessional hematology-oncology care team, of physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals, have the knowledge and skills necessary to optimize the management of patients with various classic hematological conditions.
Target Audience
The course is intended for advanced clinicians (physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and allied health care professionals) who practice in classic hematology, medical oncology, radiation oncology, surgical oncology, and/or stem cell/cellular therapy.
Learning Objectives
- Discuss classic hematological disorders.
- Describe epidemiology, etiology, pathophysiology, differential diagnosis, diagnostic testing, treatment modalities,
- outcomes of anemia, myeloproliferative disorders, and pregnancy-related hematological disorders.
- Distinguish thrombotic disorders and other immune-mediated cytopenias.
- Summarize classic hematology testing.
- Explain porphyrias and the various types and classifications.
