AHN Women's Institute Spring Conference - Obesity in Pregnancy Forum-Enduring Material
Maternal obesity posses increased challenges and complications in pregnancy. The incidence of maternal obesity has approached 40%. Women with obesity are at increased risk for gestational diabetes, hypertension, preeclampsia, venous thromboembolism, miscarriage, Caesarian section, aesthetic complications, and wound infections. Babies of obese women are at increased of stillborn, congenital anomalies, prematurity, macrosomia and neonatal mortality. AHN’s Spring Seminar Obesity in Pregnancy will address these issues and provide guidelines for antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum management.
