AHN Radiation Oncology Network 18th Annual Practicum
The 2022, 18th Practicum in the Division of Radiation Oncology continues a history of annual educational programs, the purpose of which is to advance medical education, clinical, technical and scientific knowledge. During the morning sessions both general and specific updates about the department and the Cancer Institute are provided. We have a few different speakers from Allegheny Health Network and Highmark Health scheduled to talk about HIPAA, the patient experience here at Allegheny Health Network, and the radiation safety to talk about the potential of a radiation disaster and how to prepare for it. The afternoon breakouts provide for separate sections to gather for separate discussions of research initiatives, problems, opportunities and solutions to specific concern

Learning Objectives
1. Understand the future of radiation oncology including new sites, new technology, and what new staff is bringing to our network. Receiving the knowledge that one of our staff members had the unbelievable opportunity to travel to Ghana to help with a less fortunate radiation oncology department.
2. Have a general understanding of the operations model of the previous year and the year in front of us.
3. Through the specific department breakout sessions, gain knowledge of new techniques and technologies that will bring AHN Radiation Oncology to the forefront of our field. Learn new processes to create a more in line department workflow. To improve communication between different sites with being able to meet new individuals which will allow for an improved comfort level while interacting with individuals on a daily basis.
