The symposium is intended to gather various health care clinicians and disciplines to provide and demonstrate the most recent clinical updates and advancements in pulmonary and critical medicine. Through interactive lectures and simulation workshops, participants with various levels of knowledge and expertise will gain new knowledge which they can use to strengthen and adapt to best practice in their own profession. 

 

Registrant Refund Policy:

Eligibility for a registrant refund is based on the following criteria. Please note, all registrants must email CME department within the specified time frames to be eligible for a refund.  To receive a full refund, registrants must provide written notification to the CME department no sooner than 30 days of activity start date. Registrants that notify the CME department within 14-29 days prior to activity will receive a 50% refund.

Target Audience

Pulmonologists, Critical Care Physicians, Emergency Medicine Physicians, Cardiologists, Hospitalists, CRNP, PA, Nurses, Respiratory Therapists, and other medical professionals.

Learning Objectives

1. Review major advancements and key clinical trials from the last year in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine.

2. Interpret essential imaging findings relevant to patients with critical illness and pulmonary disease.

3. Understand the components and rationale behind evidence-based ICU bundles.

4. Describe current guidelines in management of cardiac arrest and the impact of post-resuscitation care strategies.

5. Discuss clinical presentations, imaging patterns, and management of immune-checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) pneumonitis.

6. Summarize best practices and new therapies in the treatment of COPD.

7. Teach skills to effectively utilize bedside ultrasound in the diagnosis and management of pulmonary and critical care diseases

8.  Practice performing chest tubes, thoracenteses, paracenteses.
