27th Annual Seminar in Pathology - Virtual Seminar

April 22, 2021 to April 24, 2021

It’s no secret that most of us look forward to attending pathology conferences in person. These events are opportunities for improving and strengthening our knowledge in pathology, keeping up to date with the latest developments in the field as well as networking with colleagues and prominent speakers.

During this year’s pandemic, I joined several online courses and virtual conferences in pathology. I found them to be a great way to educate myself from the comfort of my home or workplace. I was able to interact with the speakers through Q&A sessions following the lectures and applied them directly to my daily sign-outs. They are a great example of investing in ourselves to expand our knowledge and advance our career.

The continuing medical education team at Allegheny Health Network and I are very excited to announce that our virtual Annual Seminar in Pathology 2021 features excellent speakers who are top performers and highly accomplished pathologists in their respective fields.

Through the presentations and Q&A sessions, participants will gain significant understanding of pathological entities and the latest concepts in breast, gynecological, gastrointestinal, head and neck, bone and soft tissue, thoracic, and genitourinary pathology as well as cytopathology.

Target Audience

The Seminar is intended for pathologists, pathologists in training and pathology assistants

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this seminar, participants should be able to:

• Demonstrate improvement in diagnostic skill in problematic areas of anatomical pathology.

• Identify, classify, and differentiate benign, premalignant, and malignant lesions in different organs.

• Apply special immunostains and molecular testing in the evaluation of non-neoplastic and neoplastic diseases.

• Communicate results effectively with the clinicians and better appreciate the importance of clinicopathologic correlation
