Low Back Pain Care Pathway: Enduring Material

This program will introduce physicians to the "Patterns of Pain" Low Back Pain Care Path, which is a care model used by Primary Care and Physical Therapy to properly diagnose and treat mechanical low back pain. In pilots, this care model has shown to be effective in resolving low back pain more quickly, and without the use of imaging, narcotic use, and surgery. The care model allows primary care physicians to properly classify the type of low back pain and order prescriptive physical therapy regimens shown to be highly effective in resolving acute low back pain as well as episodic acute episodes of chronic low back pain.
