Learning Objectives
Following this program, attendees will be able to: Lecture 1. The challenge of Ocular TB - what have we learned for the COTS - Study, and its relevance to North America. M. Westcott, MD, FRCOphth. 1) Recognize the common manifestations (phenotypes) of TB 2) Understand key findings of the landmark Collaborative Ocular Tuberculosis study (COTS) 3) Discuss key concepts and the current challenges of diagnosis of ocular TB. Resident Case Presentation – A. Dmitriev, MD TBD Lecture 2. Tips and tricks in getting the diagnosis in sight – threatening Uveitis. How to get it right. M. Westcott, MD, FRCOphth1) Recognize key and critical presentations of sight threatening posterior uveitis. 2) Discuss sensible approach to the use of key supportive investigations and how to interpret them and 3) Review safe and sensible initial therapy.
