At the completion of this activity, the participant will be able to:
1. Describe the pharmacodynamics of medical marijuana, including active compounds within the cannabis plant that hold potential therapeutic benefits within oncologic patients
2. Review literature surrounding use of medical marijuana in oncologic patients, including chemotherapy induced nausea and vomiting (CINV), analgesia, cachexia, anxiety and depression, and tumor suppression properties
3. Identify potential adverse events a patient may experience while consuming marijuana, including drug interactions, anxiety and depression, decreased efficacy of immunotherapy, increased risk of lung and cardiovascular disease, withdrawal, and increased risk of fall
4. Discuss current guideline recommendations surrounding marijuana use in cancer care
