Many of us have strong bonds with our four-legged friends. For many, a pet is a beloved member of the family, a best friend, a companion, and a joy in our lives. The death of a pet can be a deeply painful experience and can leave a void in our hearts. This loss can feel overwhelming, and it often triggers difficult and distressing emotions.
Some people seem unable to understand the pain of losing a beloved pet. This lack of empathy with their loss and the minimizing of their feelings can leave grievers feeling confused and frustrated. Since the loss of a pet can be every bit as intense as the loss of any other cherished family member, these grievers need support too.
