Participants will be able to define the grief continuum to understand how caretaking, medical treatment, and other factors influence family response to hard conversations.

·           Define Twilight, Anticipatory and Preparatory Grief

·           Introduce "A Good Death"/identify improved support strategies for families and EOL patients

·           Define “bad news”

·           Discuss the importance of communication and factors that influence how bad news is received.

·           Explore potential responses to bad news and how to support families through an emotional response.
